The Internet of Medical Things Industry is in full growth. Technological advances and the adoption of new interconnected tools such as software, mobile devices or applications promise to revolutionize health systems in the world. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

To understand what the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is, it is necessary to know what the "Internet of Things" is. Deloitte defines the \u201cInternet Of Things\u201d (IoT), as \u201cthe grouping and interconnection of devices and objects through a network (be it private or the Internet, the network of networks), where all of them could be visible and interact\u201d. This includes sensors, mechanical devices and everyday objects such as appliances, clothes, smart watches, etc.<\/p>

On the other hand, the IoMT includes medical technologies and tools such as artificial joints, scanners; or mobile medical technologies, such as glucose meters, sensors, smart watches, among other interconnected devices.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Medical technology (Medtech) is included in the IoMT, and its development is essential to promote the digitization of medical services and also achieve greater involvement by patients in their medical care.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Among the benefits of the IoMT are the improvement in the administration of medications, reduction of costs in medical services, improvement of the experience of the patients and their results, obtaining better results of diagnosis and treatment, remote monitoring of chronic conditions and improvements in the management of diseases.<\/p>

Among the main challenges for the adoption of IoMT is interoperability, which seeks the use of open platforms and open data standards so that technology providers and users always have data available for use.<\/p>

Also the modification of regulatory frameworks of each country is a challenge, the authorities of each country must introduce medical technologies to regulate and promote their use. For example, during the pandemic, Latin American countries such as Peru or Brazil have approved the use of telemedicine to provide remote medical care.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La Industria del Internet de las Cosas M\u00e9dicas, se encuentra en pleno crecimiento. Los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos y la adopci\u00f3n de nuevas herramientas interconectadas como software, dispositivos m\u00f3viles o aplicaciones, prometen revolucionar los sistemas de salud en el mundo. Para comprender qu\u00e9 es el Internet de las Cosas M\u00e9dicas (IoMT), es necesario conocer qu\u00e9 es el “Internet de las cosas”. Deloitte define el \u201cInternet Of Things” (IoT), como “la agrupaci\u00f3n e interconexi\u00f3n de dispositivos y objetos a trav\u00e9s de una red (bien sea privada o Internet, la red de redes), d\u00f3nde todos ellos podr\u00edan ser visibles e interaccionar”. Esto contempla sensores, dispositivos mec\u00e1nicos y objetos cotidianos como electrodom\u00e9sticos, ropa, relojes inteligentes, etc. Por otra parte, el IoMT, incluye tecnolog\u00edas y herramientas m\u00e9dicas como articulaciones artificiales, esc\u00e1neres; o tecnolog\u00edas m\u00e9dicas m\u00f3viles, como medidores de glucosa, sensores, relojes inteligentes, entre otros dispositivos interconectados.  La tecnolog\u00eda m\u00e9dica (Medtech), est\u00e1 incluida en el IoMT, y su desarrollo es fundamental para promover la digitalizaci\u00f3n de los servicios m\u00e9dicos y adem\u00e1s lograr mayor involucramiento por parte de los pacientes en su atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Entre los beneficios del IoMT se encuentran la mejora en la administraci\u00f3n de medicamentos, reducci\u00f3n de costos en servicios m\u00e9dicos, mejorar la experiencia de los pacientes y sus resultados, obtener mejores resultados de diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento, monitoreo remoto de condiciones cr\u00f3nicas y mejoras en el manejo de enfermedades. Entre los principales retos para la adopci\u00f3n del IoMT, se encuentra la interoperabilidad, que busca el uso de plataformas abiertas y est\u00e1ndares de datos abiertos para que los proveedores y usuarios de la tecnolog\u00eda siempre tengan los datos disponibles para su uso. Tambi\u00e9n la modificaci\u00f3n de marcos regulatorios de cada pa\u00eds es un desaf\u00edo, las autoridades de cada pa\u00eds deben introducir a las tecnolog\u00edas m\u00e9dicas para regular y promover su uso.
