A pharmacy in the province of Catamarca, northwestern Argentina, implemented since last year in the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, a robotics system to improve efficiency in customer service.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This pharmacy located in Catamarca, added to its staff a robot that has reduced to zero the number of COVID-19 infections among the pharmacy staff since its implementation. The robot's main tasks are to scan products, check expiration dates and customize stocks.<\/p>

The robot is 2.83 meters tall and, according to Florencia Sosa, director of the company that runs the pharmacy, the robot was planned before the pandemic. \"On a trip to Europe I saw it in a pharmacy in Munich, I analyzed the model and with the remodeling of one of my pharmacies, I decided to bring it to Argentina, but not without going through the bureaucracy that that implies, import barriers, tax obstacles, etc. We sent it to a design pharmacy, they added some side panels to make it work as we needed in our chain and just with the arrival of the pandemic we put it into operation\".<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The robot ensures that there is minimal contact between personnel in the pharmacy and reduces customer waiting times by speeding up the medication search process.<\/p>

Sosa explained that in addition to the benefits it brought to the pharmacy's productivity, the robot was a key element in reducing the spread of COVID-19 not only within the pharmacy, but also in the community of Catamarca: \"And the truth is that a medicine passes through many hands and pharmacies receive many potentially ill people. Una farmacia en la provincia de Catamarca, al noroeste de Argentina, implement\u00f3 desde el a\u00f1o pasado a ra\u00edz de la pandemia por COVID-19, un sistema de rob\u00f3tica para mejorar la eficiencia en el servicio de atenci\u00f3n al cliente. Esta farmacia ubicada en Catamarca, adicion\u00f3 a sus filas un robot que permiti\u00f3 reducir a cero los contagios de COVID-19 del personal de la farmacia desde su implementaci\u00f3n. Las principales tareas del robot son realizar escaneos de los productos, checar las fechas de caducidad y personalizar stocks. El robot cuenta con una altura de 2,83 metros y seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 Florencia Sosa, directora de la compa\u00f1\u00eda que dirige la farmacia, el robot estaba planeado desde antes de la pandemia. “En un viaje a Europa lo vi en una farmacia de M\u00fanich, analic\u00e9 el modelo y con la remodelaci\u00f3n de una de mis farmacias, me plant\u00e9 traerlo a la Argentina, no sin atravesar la burocracia que eso implica, barrera de importaciones, trabas impositivas, etc. Lo mandamos a una farmacia dise\u00f1ar, le agregaron unos paneles laterales para que funcione como necesitamos en nuestra cadena y justo con la llegada de la pandemia lo pusimos en funcionamiento”. El robot, logra que exista contacto m\u00ednimo entre el personal dentro de la farmacia y reduce tiempos de espera de los clientes al agilizar el proceso de b\u00fasqueda del medicamento. “La adopci\u00f3n del robot justo en el per\u00edodo que lo trajimos a Argentina, logr\u00f3 el objetivo de disminuir el riesgo de contagio entre empleados y clientes”, explic\u00f3 Sosa. Sosa explic\u00f3 que adem\u00e1s de los beneficios que trajo a la productividad de la farmacia, el robot fue pieza clave para reducir contagios de COVID-19 no solo dentro de la farmacia, sino en la comunidad de Catamarca: \u201cY lo cierto es que un medicamento pasa por muchas manos y a las farmacias ingresan muchos potenciales enfermos.
