The National Maternal and Perinatal Institute (INMP) of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) in Peru began providing medical care to pregnant women living in remote areas of the Puno region.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The department of Puno in southern Peru is closely linked to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. The telemedicine service has been promoted by the PIAS of the Naval Medical Center Cirujano Mayor Santiago T\u00e1vara, of the Navy, and provides services to pregnant women in the Puno region in terms of diagnosis and treatment to reduce complications during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\"At this moment we have carried out a teleconsultation with the patient Mariana, 29 years old, from Suana Island, district of Anapia, province of Yunguyo, in the Puno region. She has undergone an ultrasound to see the evolution of her pregnancy,\" explained the executive director of the Directorate of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Minsa, Guillermo Atencio La Rosa.<\/p>

Thanks to telemedicine, specialists can identify risk factors and identify complications during gestation and thus connect patients with the coordination of Lima to transfer the patient to a health facility and provide specialized treatment.<\/p>

El Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal (INMP), del Ministerio de Salud (Minsa) en Per\u00fa, comenz\u00f3 a brindar atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica a mujeres gestantes que radican en zonas alejadas de la regi\u00f3n de Puno El departamento de Puno al sur de Per\u00fa se encuentra estrechamente vinculado con el lago Titicaca, el lago navegable a mayor altura en todo el mundo. Alrededor de este importante lago hay una gran intervenci\u00f3n por parte de las Plataformas itinerantes de acci\u00f3n social (PIAS), buques de Marina de Guerra de Per\u00fa, que brindan servicios del estado a poblaciones rurales y nativas para promover su desarrollo. El servicio de telemedicina ha sido impulsado por el PIAS del Centro M\u00e9dico Naval Cirujano Mayor Santiago T\u00e1vara, de la Marina de Guerra, y brinda servicios a mujeres embarazadas de la regi\u00f3n de Puno en temas de diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento, para reducir complicaciones durante la gestaci\u00f3n, el parto y el puerperio. “En estos momentos hemos llevado a cabo una teleconsulta a la paciente Mariana, de 29 a\u00f1os, proveniente de isla Suana, distrito de Anapia, provincia de Yunguyo, en la regi\u00f3n Puno. Se le ha realizado una ecograf\u00eda para ver la evoluci\u00f3n de su embarazo\u201d, explic\u00f3 el director ejecutivo de la Direcci\u00f3n de Salud Sexual y Reproductiva del Minsa, Guillermo Atencio La Rosa. Gracias a la telemedicina los especialistas pueden identificar factores de riesgo y detectar complicaciones durante la gestaci\u00f3n y as\u00ed conectar a las pacientes con la coordinaci\u00f3n de Lima para trasladar a la paciente a un establecimiento de salud y brindar el trato especializado. De esta forma ser\u00e1 posible que los especialistas detecten a tiempo patolog\u00edas morbilidad, y otras alteraciones para que la paciente reciba atenci\u00f3n oportuna.
