Adem\u00e1s, en otros pa\u00edses, la pandemia promovi\u00f3 la aceleraci\u00f3n en la adopci\u00f3n de telemedicina y otras tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital. Por otra parte, los art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos y de investigaci\u00f3n sobre el uso de tecnolog\u00edas para el monitoreo de la salud de los pacientes, tambi\u00e9n se han multiplicado durante el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o, espec\u00edficamente aquellos que abordan temas como el uso de dispositivos m\u00f3viles, como wearables. Mediante el uso de wearables para la investigaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica, ha sido posible conocer m\u00e1s sobre los s\u00edntomas de COVID-19. Y como a trav\u00e9s del monitoreo de los s\u00edntomas es posible mejorar la predicci\u00f3n de la gravedad de la enfermedad por coronavirus, dependiendo del tipo de s\u00edntomas presentados, ya sea fiebre, dolor de cabeza, fatiga, o incluso cambios en los h\u00e1bitos de sue\u00f1o. Por otra parte tambi\u00e9n han sido desarrollados estudios que eval\u00faan los signos fisiol\u00f3gicos asociados a COVID-19, monitoreo que se realiza tambi\u00e9n a trav\u00e9s de wearables. Dicho estudio muestra resultados que podr\u00edan predecir una posible hospitalizaci\u00f3n por dicha enfermedad. Sin embargo, los wearables no han sido \u00fanicamente utilizados para desarrollar estudios sobre COVID-19. Un estudio de Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK, analiz\u00f3 datos a gran escala sobre enfermedades neurodegenerativas a trav\u00e9s de estos dispositivos. El objetivo de dicha investigaci\u00f3n es identificar caracter\u00edsticas espec\u00edficas de este tipo de enfermedades y brinda un diagn\u00f3stico temprano a los pacientes. A ra\u00edz de la pandemia, han tomado mayor fuerza y han sido m\u00e1s notorias las l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n relacionadas a el uso de dispositivos para la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica remota, la telemedicina, chat bots m\u00e9dicos, entre otros.
