Five penitentiary centers in Peru will join the National Telehealth Network (RNT) to connect with hospitals and specialized health professionals, as appropriate, officials announced in a virtual conference.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The application of telemedicine services aims to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of the population of the aforementioned prisons. Faced with the pandemic, health services have presented limitations to provide comprehensive health services in prisons, which is why the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) has opted for telemedicine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Before being announced as part of the RNT, the penitentiary centers underwent a technical evaluation by Digitel of the Minsa. This evaluation considered that the technical and connectivity aspects of the centers were suitable to receive and provide telemedicine services.<\/p>

The Minister of Justice, Eduardo Vega Luna, explained that the objective is for the health facilities of the 69 prisons in the country to be able to incorporate telemedicine services and become part of the RNT.<\/p>

To test the connectivity and efficiency of the service, the virtual presentation of this advance, Susana Silva, president of the INPE, made remote contact with a pulmonologist from the San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital for a tele-consultation.<\/p>

On the other hand, another 76 new facilities were added to the RTN, which includes health facilities belonging to the Army and the Minsa in the regions of Arequipa, Ancash, Ayacucho, Puno, Lima, Junin, Cusco, Tumbes, Callao, Cajamarca, Moquegua, Tacna, Loreto and Piura.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Cinco centros penitenciarios en Per\u00fa se incorporar\u00e1n a la Red Nacional de Telesalud (RNT) para conectarse con hospitales y profesionales de salud especializados, seg\u00fan sea el caso, anunciaron funcionarios en conferencia virtual. Los penales Miguel Castro Seg\u00fan, Lurigancho, Callao, La Oroya y Huancayo, formar\u00e1n parte de la RNT del Ministerio de Salud de Per\u00fa (Minsa), de esta forma podr\u00e1n establecer conexi\u00f3n con hospitales con mayor oferta de especialidades y mayor capacidad de diagn\u00f3stico. La aplicaci\u00f3n de servicios de telemedicina tiene como objetivo facilitar los diagn\u00f3sticos y tratamiento de la poblaci\u00f3n de los centros penitenciarios mencionados anteriormente. Ante la pandemia, los servicios de salud han presentado limitaciones para brindar servicios de salud integrales en los centros penitenciarios, es por eso que el Instituto Nacional Penitenciario (INPE) ha optado por la telemedicina. Antes de ser anunciados como parte de la RNT, los centros penitenciarios pasaron por una evaluaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica de la Digitel del Minsa. Esta evaluaci\u00f3n consider\u00f3 que los aspectos t\u00e9cnicos y de conectividad de los centros eran aptos para recibir y brindar servicios de telemedicina.
