The University of Los Andes, in Colombia, reported that through its Research and Training Center for Artificial Intelligence (CinfonIA) they have developed a system to multiply and maximize COVID-19 tests, by performing group tests. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Through a method of pooling samples from several individuals. In this way, instead of performing an individual analysis, they are analyzed together, and it is possible to detect negative cases in a shorter time. If in the group one of the tests is positive, an individual analysis is then performed to confirm the case. Pablo Andr\u00e9s Arbel\u00e1ez, director of CinfonIA, explained that tests have already been performed using this method thanks to the collaboration between the Mayor's Office and the Ministry of Health of Bogota and the Gencore Sequencing Laboratory. \"Pablo Andr\u00e9s Arbel\u00e1ez, director of CinfonIA, states that proof of concept tests have already been performed in collaboration with the Mayor's Office and the Bogota Health Secretariat through the Gencore Sequencing Laboratory for the analysis of COVID-19, in a sample of real patients,\" he explained.<\/p>

CinfonIA, explained that they use a Smart Pooling<\/em>method, which consists of using clinical data of patients and their evolution, contemplating data from patients from different health centers. \"Smart Pooling<\/em> makes COVID-19 testing more efficient in the Gencore laboratory, saving reagents and time that can be reinvested in more tests and thus reach more people,\" explained Silvia Restrepo, vice-rector for Research and Creation at the Universidad de los Andes and director of the Laboratory.<\/p>

La Universidad de Los Andes, en Colombia, inform\u00f3 que trav\u00e9s del Centro de Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n y Formaci\u00f3n en Inteligencia Artificial (CinfonIA) han desarrollado un sistema para multiplicar y aprovechar al m\u00e1ximo las pruebas de COVID-19, al realizar pruebas grupales. El sistema consiste en hacer pruebas grupales para reducir la utilizaci\u00f3n de reactivos moleculares. A trav\u00e9s de los datos cl\u00ednicos de los pacientes ser\u00eda posible predecir resultados de las pruebas COVID-19.  A trav\u00e9s de un m\u00e9todo de agrupaci\u00f3n de muestras de varias personas. De esta forma, en lugar de realizar un an\u00e1lisis individual se analizan en conjunto, y es posible la detecci\u00f3n de casos negativos en menor tiempo. S\u00ed en el grupo una de las pruebas resulta positiva, despu\u00e9s se har\u00e1 un an\u00e1lisis individual para confirmaci\u00f3n del caso. De esta forma se utilizan menos reactivos moleculares y es posible realizar m\u00e1s pruebas en menor tiempo, ahorrando recursos al disminuir costos y uso de pruebas reactivas.
