NHSX, the UK Government body responsible for the development of technology best practice in the National Health Service (NHS), launched a new process for Digital Health technology assessment. The new Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) aims to make medical staff and patients aware of the Digital Health technologies that meet the standards set by the NHS.<\/p>

The new guide includes an evaluation model based on four categories: clinical safety, data protection, technical security, and interoperability. Matthew Gould, chief executive of NHSX, explained that, \u201cThe new Digital Technology Assessment Criteria is designed to give staff, patients and citizens confidence that the digital health tools they use meet the NHS\u2019s high standards.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

He further mentioned that Digital Health technologies are already being used across the NHS and increasingly in social care. In this way the NHS is looking to increase access to health services and reduce the burden on healthcare staff. In terms of security, Gould mentioned that, \u201cThe new assessment process will identify the digital tools that meet NHS standards on clinical safety, cyber security and data protection from amongst the thousands available in the market, and do it more quickly than before.\u201d<\/p>

The NHSX is looking to the DTAC, to ensure speed in the evaluation processes for Digital Health tools always meeting the high standards they manage. The health authorities hope that in the coming months it will be integrated into the different NHS institutions and organizations at a local level, so that products will first be evaluated through the tool before being used.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Los nuevos criterios de evaluaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas de salud buscan agilizar los procesos aprobaci\u00f3n de las herramientas de Salud Digital para que sean adoptadas en los servicios de atenci\u00f3n social. El NHSX, el organismo del Gobierno del Reino Unido que se encarga del desarrollo de mejores pr\u00e1cticas tecnol\u00f3gicas en el Servicio Nacional de Salud (NHS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), lanz\u00f3 un nuevo proceso para la evaluaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital. Los nuevos Criterios de evaluaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00eda digital (DTAC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), tienen como objetivo que el personal m\u00e9dico y los pacientes conozcan las tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital que cumplen con los est\u00e1ndares que establece el NHS. La nueva gu\u00eda incluye un modelo de evaluaci\u00f3n que se basa en cuatro categor\u00edas: seguridad cl\u00ednica, protecci\u00f3n de datos, seguridad t\u00e9cnica e interoperabilidad. As\u00ed como una puntuaci\u00f3n relacionada a la usabilidad y accesibilidad de la herramienta. Matthew Gould, director ejecutivo de NHSX, explic\u00f3 que: \u201cLos nuevos Criterios de evaluaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00eda digital est\u00e1n dise\u00f1ados para brindar al personal, los pacientes y los ciudadanos la confianza de que las herramientas de salud digital que utilizan cumplen los altos est\u00e1ndares del NHS\u201d. Adem\u00e1s, mencion\u00f3 que las tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital ya se est\u00e1n utilizando en todo el NHS y cada vez m\u00e1s en la atenci\u00f3n social. De esta forma el NHS busca aumentar el acceso a los servicios de salud y reducir la carga del personal sanitario.  En cuanto a seguridad, Gould mencion\u00f3 que: “El nuevo proceso de evaluaci\u00f3n identificar\u00e1 las herramientas digitales que cumplen con los est\u00e1ndares del NHS sobre seguridad cl\u00ednica, ciberseguridad y protecci\u00f3n de datos entre los miles disponibles en el mercado, y lo har\u00e1 m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que antes”. La NHSX busca que la DTAC, garantice la rapidez en los procesos de evaluaci\u00f3n de herramientas de Salud Digital siempre cumpliendo con los est\u00e1ndares altos que manejan. Las autoridades de salud esperan que en los pr\u00f3ximos meses ya se encuentre integrado en las diferentes instituciones y organizaciones de la NHS a nivel local, para que los productos se eval\u00faen primero a trav\u00e9s de la herramienta antes de ser utilizados.
