in the second sesi\u00f3n, on February 16 the assistants talked about the progress on IS4H, also the results of the questionnaire were presented; finally on February 23, in the final session, the call for action of the Member States was made.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-1436574c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no wpr-equal-height-no\" data-id=\"1436574c\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-ed1282c\" data-id=\"ed1282c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-20d1ca86 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"20d1ca86\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The eight principles of the digital transformation of the health sector were presented during the last session on February 23: Lograr la conectividad universal en el sector salud para el 2030.<\/p><ul><li>Achieve Universal conectivity in the ehalth sector by 2030<\/li><li>Co-create digital public health godos for a more equitable Word<\/li><li>Accelerate progress toward inclusive digital health, with emphasis on the most vulnerable populations<\/li><li>Implement open, sistainable, interoperable digital information and health systems<\/li><li>Mainstream human rights across all areas of digital transformation in health<\/li><li>Participate in global cooperation on artificial intelligence and any emerging technology<\/li><li>Establish mechanisms for the confidentiality and secutiry of information in the digital public health setting<\/li><li>Design a renewed public health architecture for the age of digital interdependence<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>One of the objectives of these sessions was to identify the countries' main IS4H needs and opportunities for improvement, as well as to facilitate the incorporation of development partners interested in the main needs. PAHO reaffirmed its support for the strengthening of IS4H and the adoption of digital tools in health systems.<\/p><p>On the other hand, PAHO Director Dr. Carissa F. Etienne mentioned during her interventions that public health requires a new approach that is \u201cmuch more holistic and inclusive, that considers new critical factors for the success of interventions, such as connectivity, bandwidth, interoperability, artificial intelligence\u201d. \u201cThis renewed approach must also consider inequities in the digital era to ensure that the digital divide does not widen the gaps in health inequities,\" the director explained.<\/p><p>The director also recognized the importance of understanding the conditions of the health systems of each country, as well as their capacity to respond to the diverse needs of individuals and communities. \u201cAnd the only way to know this is if we have information systems capable of capturing and processing critical and disaggregated data and making it available to the entire health system without exceptions,\u201d she said.<\/p><p>PAHO's strategy on IS4H, began in November 2016 through the meeting with Member States belonging to the Caribbean. The following year, the implementation of IS4H in Central America was discussed, in 2018 the same happened in South America. By October 2019, the discussion on IS4H included all Member States. In 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) strategy introduced <em>Share-Listen-Act<\/em> , with a series of conferences on current global health developments and challenges, which included Digital Transformation. El Departamento de Evidencia e Inteligencia para la Acci\u00f3n en Salud (EIH) de la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), llev\u00f3 a cabo la serie de conferencias: \u201cJornadas: De la evoluci\u00f3n de los Sistemas de Informaci\u00f3n para la Salud (IS4H) a la Transformaci\u00f3n Digital del Sector Salud\u201d. Las conferencias reunieron virtualmente a Ministerios de Salud y otros organismos gubernamentales de todo el continente, especializados en sistemas de informaci\u00f3n, Salud Digital, gobierno digital, vigilancia epidemiol\u00f3gica, telecomunicaciones, entre otros temas. Las conferencias virtuales se realizaron en tres sesiones, la primera el 9 de febrero, en la cual presentaron el plan de acci\u00f3n sobre IS4H, se abri\u00f3 el di\u00e1logo entre pa\u00edses para intercambio de experiencias y de igual forma se presentaron las instrucciones sobre el cuestionario de indicadores de Salud Digital; el 16 de febrero fue la segunda sesi\u00f3n, en la cual se presentaron avances sobre IS4H y los resultados del cuestionario; finalmente el 23 de febrero en la sesi\u00f3n final se realiz\u00f3 el llamado a la acci\u00f3n de los Estados Miembros. Los ocho principios de la transformaci\u00f3n digital del sector sanitario fueron expuestos durante la \u00faltima sesi\u00f3n el 23 de febrero: Lograr la conectividad universal en el sector salud para el 2030. Co-crear bienes de salud p\u00fablica digital para un mundo m\u00e1s equitativo. Acelerar el progreso hacia la salud digital inclusiva, haciendo \u00e9nfasis en las poblaciones vulnerables. Implementar sistemas de salud e informaci\u00f3n digital sustentables, interoperables y abiertos. Integrar los derechos humanos en todos los \u00e1mbitos de la transformaci\u00f3n digital en la sanidad. Participar en cooperaci\u00f3n global sobre inteligencia artificial y tecnolog\u00edas emergentes. Establecer mecanismos para la confidencialidad y seguridad de la informaci\u00f3n en los sistemas p\u00fablicos de salud digital. Dise\u00f1ar una estructura renovada de salud p\u00fablica para la era de la interdependencia digital. \u00a0 Uno de los objetivos de estas sesiones fue identificar las principales necesidades y oportunidades de mejora de IS4H de los pa\u00edses, as\u00ed como facilitar la incorporaci\u00f3n de socios de desarrollo interesados \u200b\u200ben las principales necesidades. La OPS reafirm\u00f3 su apoyo al fortalecimiento de los IS4H y la adopci\u00f3n de herramientas digitales en los sistemas de salud. Por otra parte, la directora de la OPS, la Dra. Carissa F. Etienne, mencion\u00f3 durante sus intervenciones que la salud p\u00fablica requiere de un nuevo enfoque &#8220;mucho m\u00e1s hol\u00edstico e inclusivo y que considere nuevos factores como la conectividad, el ancho de banda, la interoperabilidad y la inteligencia artificial&#8221;. \u201cEste enfoque renovado tambi\u00e9n debe tomar en cuenta factores de inequidad para garantizar que la brecha digital no ampl\u00ede desigualdades que ya existen en el sector de la salud\u201d, explic\u00f3 la directora. La directora tambi\u00e9n reconoci\u00f3 la importancia de conocer en qu\u00e9 estado se encuentran los sistemas de salud de cada pa\u00eds, as\u00ed como su capacidad de respuesta ante las diversas necesidades de las personas y las comunidades. \u201cY la \u00fanica forma de saberlo es si contamos con sistemas de informaci\u00f3n capaces de capturar y procesar datos cr\u00edticos y desglosados, para ponerlos a disposici\u00f3n de todo el sistema de salud, sin excepciones\u201d, coment\u00f3. La estrategia de la OPS sobre los IS4H, comenz\u00f3 en noviembre de 2016 a trav\u00e9s de la reuni\u00f3n con Estados Miembros pertenecientes al Caribe. Al a\u00f1o siguiente se discuti\u00f3 sobre la aplicaci\u00f3n de IS4H en Centroam\u00e9rica, en 2018 sucedi\u00f3 lo mismo en Sudam\u00e9rica. Para octubre de 2019, la discusi\u00f3n sobre IS4H incluy\u00f3 a todos los Estados Miembros. En 2020 la estrategia de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) introdujo el Share-Listen-Act o Comparte-Escucha-Act\u00faa, con una serie de conferencias sobre la actualidad de los avances y desaf\u00edos en salud a nivel mundial, lo que incluy\u00f3 la Transformaci\u00f3n Digital.
