They are a safe approach to isolate people who have had contact with a confirmed case of the infection. Moreover, through mobile phones it is also possible to measure population mobility data and through their analysis make better decisions about mobility restrictions.<\/p><p>In the article: \"Simulating SARS-CoV-2 epidemics by region-specific variables and modeling contact tracing app containment\", published in npj Digital Medicine from Nature, the authors propose the application of a SIR model -a model based on the analysis of the transition from individuals susceptible to infection (S) to the state of infected individuals who infect (I) and, finally, to recovered (cured or deceased) (R)- focused on COVID-19.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section of the SIR model, was to faithfully reproduce the dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 epidemics, including the respective roles of asymptomatic infection and population density, and to test the effects of different interventions, specifically the use of telephone applications for contact tracing, as explained by the authors in the Results section.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-48bb2e2b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no Italy were used for this research, taking into consideration the specific population density of each region, and they also tested the impact of the contact tracing application in a series of scenarios.<\/p><p>\"Our results show that, in support of efficient isolation of symptomatic cases, app-mediated contact-tracing can successfully mitigate the epidemic even with a relatively small fraction of users, and even suppress altogether with a larger fraction of users,\" the authors explained. En el art\u00edculo: &#8220;Simular epidemias de SARS-CoV-2 por variables espec\u00edficas de la regi\u00f3n y modelar la contenci\u00f3n de la aplicaci\u00f3n de rastreo de contactos&#8221;, publicado en npj Digital Medicine de la revista Nature, los autores plantean la aplicaci\u00f3n de un modelo SIR \u2014modelo que se basa en el an\u00e1lisis de la transici\u00f3n de los individuos susceptibles a la infecci\u00f3n (S) al estado de individuos infectados que infectan (I) y, finalmente, al de recuperados (curados o fallecidos) (R)\u2014 enfocado en COVID-19. El objetivo del estudio y espec\u00edficamente de la construcci\u00f3n del modelo SIR, fue reproducir fielmente la din\u00e1mica de las epidemias de SARS-CoV-2, incluidas las funciones respectivas de la infecci\u00f3n asintom\u00e1tica y la densidad de poblaci\u00f3n y probar los efectos de distintas intervenciones, y espec\u00edficamente el uso de aplicaciones telef\u00f3nicas para rastrear contactos, seg\u00fan explican los autores en el apartado de Resultados. Para dicha investigaci\u00f3n fueron utilizados datos demogr\u00e1ficos de Espa\u00f1a e Italia, tomando en cuenta la densidad poblacional espec\u00edfica de cada regi\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n probaron el impacto de la aplicaci\u00f3n de rastro de contactos en una serie de escenarios planteados. \u201cNuestros resultados muestran que, en apoyo del aislamiento eficiente de casos sintom\u00e1ticos, el rastreo de contactos mediado por aplicaciones puede mitigar con \u00e9xito la epidemia incluso con una fracci\u00f3n relativamente peque\u00f1a de usuarios, e incluso suprimir por completo con una fracci\u00f3n mayor de usuarios\u201d, explicaron los autores. No obstante, reconocen que la densidad de poblaci\u00f3n es un aspecto cr\u00edtico que puede determinar la dificultad de contener o no los contagios. \u201cNuestro objetivo fue modelar el efecto del rastreo de contactos mediado por aplicaciones teniendo en cuenta la densidad de poblaci\u00f3n y el transporte, al mismo tiempo que permitimos monitorear el n\u00famero de pacientes que est\u00e1n en cuarentena y su estado con respecto a la infecci\u00f3n\u201d, explican sobre el uso del rastreo de contactos como una herramienta para controlar los contagios de COVID-19 al levantar las restricciones en la movilidad. En sus resultados generales, explican que la cuarentena voluntaria, registrada gracias a las apps de rastreo de contactos, as\u00ed como el aislamiento de casos confirmados, contribuyen al control de la epidemia, sin embargo, se deben tomar en cuenta factores como la densidad de poblaci\u00f3n y la movilidad en transporte p\u00fablico, por ejemplo.
