The Regional Directorate of the Department of Ayacucho, Peru, opened the Ayacucho Telehealth service, which seeks to benefit more than 500,000 people in the region. Health Directorate (DIRESA), inaugurated the new service center of Telesalud Ayacucho, which is intended to benefit more than 500,000 people across the department through the connectivity with other health centers, to provide remote consultations and remote care.<\/p>

Elvyn D\u00edaz Tello, head of the DIRESA, explained that: \u201cwith this initiative we are bringing health services even closer to the population through the benefits of information and communication technologies. \u201cThanks to the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), patients will have access to remote medical services in a timely manner and with the specialties they require. For example, they will be able to connect with specialists at Hospital 2 de Mayo or Hospital Cayetano de Heredia in Lima, two of the most important medical centers in the country. In addition, they are interconnected in the National Telehealth Network that now has 270 hospitals.<\/p>

\u201cThe gap of specialists is big, but our sector implements this strategy to attend the population. Our recognition to the work team for making this work possible,\u201d mentioned the head of DIRESA. La Direcci\u00f3n Regional del Departamento de Ayacucho, Per\u00fa, inaugur\u00f3 el servicio de Telesalud Ayacucho, que busca beneficiar a m\u00e1s de 500 mil personas en la regi\u00f3n. El Gobierno del departamento de Ayacucho y la Direcci\u00f3n Regional de Salud (DIRESA), inauguraron el nuevo centro de servicios de Telesalud Ayacucho, que tiene como prop\u00f3sito beneficiar a m\u00e1s de 500 mil habitantes en todo el departamento a trav\u00e9s de la conectividad con otros centros de salud, para ofrecer consultas a distancia y atenci\u00f3n remota. Elvyn D\u00edaz Tello, titular de la DIRESA, explic\u00f3 que: \u201ccon esta iniciativa estamos acercando a\u00fan m\u00e1s los servicios de salud a la poblaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de las bondades de las tecnolog\u00edas de la informaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n. Ahora llegamos a esta etapa de nivel tecnol\u00f3gico que va ayudar much\u00edsimo al diagn\u00f3stico y posibles curas de casos de alta complejidad\u201d. Gracias a la utilizaci\u00f3n de Tecnolog\u00edas de la Informaci\u00f3n y Comunicaci\u00f3n (TIC), los pacientes tendr\u00e1n acceso a servicios m\u00e9dicos a distancia de manera oportuna y con las especialidades que requieran. Por ejemplo, podr\u00e1n conectarse con especialistas del Hospital 2 de Mayo o el Hospital Cayetano de Heredia en Lima, dos de los centros m\u00e9dicos m\u00e1s importantes del pa\u00eds. Adem\u00e1s, interconectados en la Red Nacional de Telesalud que cuenta ahora con 270 hospitales. \u201cLa brecha de especialistas es grande, pero nuestro sector implementa esta estrategia para atender a la poblaci\u00f3n. Nuestro reconocimiento al equipo de trabajo por hacer posible este trabajo\u201d, mencion\u00f3 el titular de la DIRESA. Asimismo, la Gerente Regional de Desarrollo Social, Lorena Hermoza Sotomayor, mencion\u00f3 que la unidad de telesalud permitir\u00e1 acercamiento a grupos vulnerables y brindar una atenci\u00f3n integral en salud.
