Breathing rate, heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV) were the three metrics evaluated for this study, as all three are easily measured by smart devices. Moreover, they are signs that could determine whether there are early signs of coronavirus disease.<\/p><p>To conduct the study, they collected data from more than 30,000 PCR tests, of which 2,745 people were diagnosed with COVID-19, with an active infection from May 21 to September 11, 2020, who were the final participants. The more than 2 thousand participants had a smartwatch intelligent device. <em>smartwatch.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-429ac2d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no wpr-equal-height-no\" data-id=\"429ac2d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1c7779f\" data-id=\"1c7779f\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3974397 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3974397\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Among the male participants, 11.9% were asymptomatic, by 11.2% of the female participants. 48.3% of the men recovered at home and 47.8% of the women, as for those who required hospitalization (without ventilator), it was 9.3% of the men and 6.6% of the women. Among the patients who did require assisted ventilation, they reported 0.5% in men and 0.4% in women.<\/p><p>Regarding symptoms, participants reported 21 symptoms, whose prevalence depended on the sex of the participants. Fatigue was the symptom that was most present among participants, 66.1% of men, by 76.1% of women. The main variable predicting the need for hospitalization was difficulty in breathing, as well as gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and loss of appetite were indicative of serious illness. On the other hand, sore throat and stomach pain were the least likely for hospitalization.<\/p><p>The significance of this study also had its strength in self-reported symptoms. Adem\u00e1s, son signos que podr\u00edan determinar si existen signos tempranos de enfermedad por coronavirus. Para realizar el estudio recopilaron datos de m\u00e1s de 30 mil pruebas PCR, de las cuales 2,745 personas fueron diagnosticadas con COVID-19, con infecci\u00f3n activa del 21 de mayo al 11 de septiembre de 2020, quienes fueron los participantes finales. Los m\u00e1s de 2 mil participantes contaron con un dispositivo inteligente smartwatch. El estudio present\u00f3 una formula simple para la estimaci\u00f3n de necesidad de atenci\u00f3n hospitalaria en los participantes, esta f\u00f3rmula consideraba los s\u00edntomas de enfermedad y s\u00edntomas auto informados, como diabetes, hipertensi\u00f3n, entre otras enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas la edad, el sexo y el \u00edndice de masa corporal (IMC). La principal variable que indic\u00f3 la predicci\u00f3n de necesidad de hospitalizaci\u00f3n fue la dificultad para respirar, as\u00ed como los s\u00edntomas gastrointestinales como v\u00f3mito y p\u00e9rdida de apetito fueron indicativos de una enfermedad grave. Por otra parte, el dolor de garganta y de est\u00f3mago fueron los menos probables para una hospitalizaci\u00f3n. La importancia de este estudio tambi\u00e9n tuvo su fuerte en los s\u00edntomas auto informados. Los autores reconocieron que, a pesar del n\u00famero de predicciones realizadas, de 196 de 2179 en necesidad de hospitalizaci\u00f3n, el estudio \u201cproporciona una contribuci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica importante al sugerir que (a) el riesgo de hospitalizaci\u00f3n se puede calcular a partir de s\u00edntomas auto informados, y (b) los dispositivos port\u00e1tiles de los consumidores pueden detectar signos fisiol\u00f3gicos relevantes y predictivos relacionados con COVID-19\u201d.
