The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)in collaboration with Accelerate Health, launched a global technological challenge to learn about proposals and initiatives that improve maternal health outcomes.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The event will be named Global Maternal Health Tech Challenge, and is reported to be launched in January 2021. Through virtual competencies to be held in virtual format, projects that will participate in the final will be chosen at the HIMSS Global Conference in person on August 10, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Competences will be divided into regions, to promote collaboration and participation of different countries. The regions will be Europe, Africa, Latin America, North America and Asia. Accelerate Health and HIMSS are currently collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders and actors. \u201cThe results of the roundtable will refine the scope of the tech challenge, which will be hosted on a virtual platform and posed to a broad community of developers, designers, entrepreneurs and others interested in developing innovative solutions to healthcare problems,\u201d says the official HIMSS announcement.<\/p>

This initiative arises, due to the high number of maternal mortalities, according to UNICEF data in 2017, around 295,000 women lost their lives during the pregnancy and childbirth process, and 94% of these deaths occurred in contexts of poverty and low resources.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

El Sociedad de Sistemas de Gesti\u00f3n e Informaci\u00f3n Sanitaria (HIMSS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), en colaboraci\u00f3n con Accelerate Health, lanzaron un desaf\u00edo tecnol\u00f3gico a nivel global con el objetivo de conocer propuestas e iniciativas que mejoren los resultados de la salud materna. El evento llevar\u00e1 por nombre Global Maternal Health Tech Challenge, y se inform\u00f3 que se lanzar\u00e1 en enero del 2021. A trav\u00e9s de competencias virtuales que se llevar\u00e1n a cabo en formato virtual, se elegir\u00e1n a los proyectos que participar\u00e1n en la final de la Conferencia Global HIMSS de manera presencial el 10 de agosto del 2021 en Las Vegas, Nevada. Las competencias ser\u00e1n dividas por regiones, para promover la colaboraci\u00f3n y la participaci\u00f3n de diferentes pa\u00edses.
