Fernando N\u00fa\u00f1ez, National Director of Governance and Integration of Health Systems in the Ministry of Health, explained the interoperability strategy for the development of best practices in health systems thanks to the implementation of Snomed.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Directorate of Governance and Integration of Health Systems, belongs to the Ministry of Health of the Argentine Nation, this agency is responsible for linking health projects of the different jurisdictions, provincial and municipal. A key aspect of governance.<\/p>

Nunez entered his position as director in December 2019, when the new government began in Argentina. The previous administration had a project in advanced phases on a digital health strategy. These projects included the National Digital Health Network, which considers objectives related to governance and system integration, however, the main focus is interoperability in the software infrastructure.<\/p>

It operates different rules, including syntactic interoperability, where we tell the system how that message has to be shaped, that resource for everything to interconnect and, on the other hand, there is semantic interoperability, which has to do with how things are named, and that it is done as standard.\"<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

To achieve this connection between different projects, the key is the use of Snomed (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine), a clinical terminology instrument used to introduce clinical information into standardized code-associated systems. \u201cI would say it's the heart (Snomed), because it's the way different systems, different health actors can interoperate. So, in that sense this vocabulary is central to the strategy,\u201d N\u00fa\u00f1ez explained.<\/p>

N\u00fa\u00f1ez stated that Snomed's strategic implementation has begun in the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT), whose registration system has begun to be transferred to Snomed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The official highlighted the importance of such technologies during the pandemic, as they have been trained on the third Wednesday of each month, through the National Release Center (NRC), online, with the aim of knowing how to implement these systems in the health sector either public or private. Un aspecto fundamental para la gobernanza. N\u00fa\u00f1ez entr\u00f3 a su cargo de director en diciembre de 2019, cuando comenz\u00f3 el nuevo gobierno en Argentina. La anterior administraci\u00f3n contaba con un proyecto en fases avanzadas sobre una estrategia de salud digital. Entre estos proyectos se encuentra la Red Nacional de Salud Digital, que considera objetivos relacionados a la gobernanza y a la integraci\u00f3n de sistemas, sin embargo, el eje principal es la interoperabilidad en la infraestructura de software. Opera distintas reglas, entre ellas est\u00e1 la interoperabilidad sint\u00e1ctica, en donde le decimos al sistema la forma que tiene que tener ese mensaje, ese recurso para que todo se interconecte y, por otro lado, est\u00e1 la interoperabilidad sem\u00e1ntica, que tiene que ver con c\u00f3mo se nombran las cosas, y que se realice de forma est\u00e1ndar\u201d. Para lograr esta conexi\u00f3n entre los diferentes proyectos, la clave es la utilizaci\u00f3n de Snomed (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine), instrumento de terminolog\u00eda cl\u00ednica utilizada para introducir informaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica en sistemas de forma estandarizada asociados a c\u00f3digos. \u201cDir\u00eda que es el coraz\u00f3n (Snomed), porque es la forma de que los distintos sistemas, los distintos actores de salud pueden interoperar. Entonces en ese sentido este vocabulario es central de la estrategia”, explic\u00f3 N\u00fa\u00f1ez. N\u00fa\u00f1ez declar\u00f3 que la implementaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica de Snomed ha comenzado en la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnolog\u00eda M\u00e9dica (ANMAT), cuyo sistema de registro ha comenzado a traspasarse a Snomed. El funcionario, resalt\u00f3 la importancia de esta clase de tecnolog\u00edas durante la pandemia, pues han sido capacitados el tercer mi\u00e9rcoles de cada mes, a trav\u00e9s del National Release Center (NRC), v\u00eda online, con el objetivo de conocer c\u00f3mo implementar estos sistemas en el sector salud ya sea p\u00fablico o privado.
