The researcher developed the algorithm in response to the saturation of primary health care units and in this way manage to identify or pre-identify patients with COVID-19 infection.<\/p><p>Together with her collaborators, they developed this AI-based innovation, in order to facilitate processes, \u201cwhat we are looking for is a more efficient system than the current one, which consists in the use of papers where patients fill their data. Si uno visita un centro asistencial, muchos de estos papeles se encuentran botados en el suelo, con lo cual se pierde la trazabilidad\u201d, explic\u00f3. La investigadora, es tambi\u00e9n fundadora del startup eHealth Care, y es trav\u00e9s de la aplicaci\u00f3n del mismo nombre (disponible para dispositivos Android a un bajo costo), c\u00f3mo funciona el auto test desarrollado por ella y su equipo. La plataforma incluye un kit port\u00e1til, un sensor electr\u00f3nico con conexi\u00f3n bluetooth, que se encarga de medir cuatro signos vitales. \u201cEl sensor opera con esta aplicaci\u00f3n, realizando un monitoreo preventivo para identificar el riesgo de infecci\u00f3n por COVID-19 y hacer el rastreo de trazabilidad. La gran ventaja es que al combinar tanto los s\u00edntomas que declara el paciente con la medici\u00f3n de signos vitales el algoritmo permite identificar con una mayor confianza si un paciente presenta o no la infecci\u00f3n, previo a una PCR, que es el examen de mayor est\u00e1ndar\u201d, sostuvo. El proyecto plantea colocar esta tecnolog\u00eda m\u00f3vil en hospitales de atenci\u00f3n primaria, para que los centros de salud puedan organizar y priorizar la atenci\u00f3n de los pacientes dependiendo del resultado obtenido. \u201cEl nuestro es un desarrollo apoyado en parte de su proceso con recursos p\u00fablicos y ahora est\u00e1 a disposici\u00f3n para enfrentar la emergencia\u201d, coment\u00f3 Sep\u00falveda. Esta iniciativa form\u00f3 parte de los 35 proyectos del torneo de emprendimiento CENS Tech Challenge, organizado por el Centro Nacional en Sistemas de Informaci\u00f3n en Salud (CENS). \u201cEl desarrollo de proyectos como e-Health demuestra que el ecosistema de innovaci\u00f3n en salud en Chile puede crear proyectos de alto impacto que ayuden a resolver la enorme brecha tecnol\u00f3gica que tienen los sistemas sanitarios en nuestro pa\u00eds, una brecha que no ha hecho m\u00e1s que manifestarse en los \u00faltimos meses\u201d, coment\u00f3 Alejandra Garc\u00eda, gerente de Innovaci\u00f3n del CENS. Finalmente, Sep\u00falveda reconoci\u00f3 la importancia del desarrollo de m\u00e1s tecnolog\u00edas de salud digital para el apoyo a centros de salud. \u201cCada vez que visitamos centros de salud nos llama la atenci\u00f3n que en la mayor\u00eda de los casos se sigan utilizando herramientas tan b\u00e1sicas como medir la temperatura en term\u00f3metros infrarrojos. Para apoyar a los trabajadores de la salud, debi\u00e9ramos incorporar tecnolog\u00eda para resguardar el valor de los datos y apoyar la trazabilidad, algo clave en estos momentos\u201d.
