The Foianini Clinic, located in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia, has worked for almost eight years on a hospital information management system for its patients<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After years of work one of the main innovations they implemented was The Unified Electronic Clinical History (HCEU), which links different processes to information in patient care, such as medical consultations, emergencies, hospitalization and diagnostic studies on a single platform. This platform is consulted by health personnel with the aim of providing a comprehensive service in health care, when considering the complete history of patients<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This service began operations since September 1 of this year, and was the result of the development of a system that was according to the specific needs of the clinic. For them, data were taken from patients who received care ten years ago, and thus a larger information base was formed with the intention of providing better services.<\/p>

\u201cWe have an important team in the area of computer science, who together with doctors who have an orientation towards technology gave life to this new Bolivian system that must be constantly updated,\u201d explained director Rodolfo Quir\u00f3s, CEO of Cl\u00ednica Foianini.<\/p>

One of the main advantages of this system is easy accessibility to the patient's clinical data, reducing the use of physical records that are archived. In addition, the digitization of clinical archives facilitates the interpretation of data to other health professionals.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Quir\u00f3s, detailed that HCEU, is part of the Hospital Information System that in turn integrates the Imaging Information System, the Pharmacy Information System and the Laboratory Information System, this on the part of medical and diagnostic care for patients and on the administrative side it joins to the Accounting system.<\/p>

La Cl\u00ednica Foianini, ubicada en la ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra en Bolivia, ha trabajado por casi ocho a\u00f1os en un sistema de gesti\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n hospitalaria de sus pacientes Tras a\u00f1os de trabajo una de las principales innovaciones que implementaron fue la Historia Cl\u00ednica Electr\u00f3nica Unificada (HCEU), que enlaza distintos procesos a informaci\u00f3n en la atenci\u00f3n de los pacientes, como consultas m\u00e9dicas, urgencias, hospitalizaci\u00f3n y estudios diagn\u00f3sticos en una sola plataforma. Dicha plataforma es consultada por el personal de salud con el objetivo de brindar un servicio integral en la atenci\u00f3n en salud, al considerar el historial completo de los pacientes. Este servicio comenz\u00f3 a operar desde el 1 de septiembre de este a\u00f1o, y fue resultado del desarrollo de un sistema que fuera acorde a las necesidades espec\u00edficas de la cl\u00ednica. Para ellos se tomaron datos de pacientes que recibieron atenci\u00f3n hace diez a\u00f1os, y as\u00ed se form\u00f3 una base de informaci\u00f3n de mayor tama\u00f1o con la intenci\u00f3n de brindar mejores servicios. \u201cTenemos un importante equipo en el \u00e1rea de inform\u00e1tica, que junto a m\u00e9dicos que tienen una orientaci\u00f3n hacia la tecnolog\u00eda dieron vida a este nuevo sistema boliviano que debe ser constantemente actualizado\u201d, explic\u00f3 el director Rodolfo Quir\u00f3s, director general de Cl\u00ednica Foianini. Una de las principales ventajas de este sistema es f\u00e1cil accesibilidad a los datos cl\u00ednicos del paciente, al reducir el uso de los registros f\u00edsicos que se encuentran archivados. Adem\u00e1s, la digitalizaci\u00f3n de los archivos cl\u00ednicos, facilita la interpretaci\u00f3n de los datos a otros personales de la salud. Quir\u00f3s, detall\u00f3 que la HCEU, forma parte del Sistema de Informaci\u00f3n Hospitalaria que a su vez integra al Sistema de Informaci\u00f3n de Im\u00e1genes, al Sistema de Informaci\u00f3n de Farmacia y al sistema de Informaci\u00f3n de Laboratorio, esto por la parte de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y diagn\u00f3stica a los pacientes y por la parte administrativa se adhiere al sistema Contable. La innovaci\u00f3n dentro de esta cl\u00ednica respondi\u00f3 a sus propias necesidades, por lo que optaron por desarrollar su propio sistema en lugar de adquirir un sistema de una empresa extranjera.
