Spanish Ministry of Health makes investments to promote the Digital Health Strategy

So far, the Digital Health Strategy, implemented by the Spanish Ministry of Health, has invested around 700 million euros to transform the health system.

The Spanish Ministry of Health announced a new investment of 57.7 million euros for the Digital Health Strategy, with the aim of adopting and implementing software systems and programming services in the National Health System (SNS). This project is divided into three types of services: contractual programming and systems analysis, systems consulting, and software consulting.

The strategy has received more than 700 million euros in investment, of which 450 correspond to European funds. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the public health system through technological and digital transformation aimed at people, health professionals, providers and other related actors.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has created the Digital Health Commission, a new body that will be in charge of coordinating and supervising the transformation strategy of the SNS. Another strategic objective is the adoption of data management and governance policies for the interoperability of information that promote the creation of a National Health Data Space.

On the other hand, this new investment is added to the one made at the end of last year in which 220 million were allocated to pharmaceutical management; data analytics, renewal of health equipment; medical analysis equipment; among others.
