Government of Peru promotes the Digital Clinical History within its health system

Digital Health in Latin America grows with the initiatives that Latin America puts at the service of the community and with the support of the public sector and its integrated policies seeks to offer comprehensive quality systems.

The importance of Digital Health in Peru is reaffirmed thanks to the awards and awards that the government gives to projects dedicated to improving the quality of health services and their easy access through new technologies.

The Intelligent Health Service (EsSI) software was awarded for its innovative ability to combine records and information in a virtual way and in the cloud in order to build an Electronic Medical Record, so that users can enter to consult information in a way digital regardless of geographical location or time.

With this system, any person can have their medical file at hand through a platform that is in charge of fully registering all the patient's data about their received care, auxiliary examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions and treatments.

The doctor in charge of the Luis Negreiros Hospital II, where this tool is applied, mentioned that “with the digitalization of the clinical history, the duplication of laboratory tests, radiographs and tomographs, as well as the loss of the document, is avoided. In addition, it allows greater control over the hospital stay of the patient, as well as the drugs that are prescribed for treatment. ”

It is from this initiative that the Peruvian government visualizes a revolution in the way of working for its Social Security, as it will consist of a digital platform where they organize each individual situation of each patient, be able to manage medications and equipment from one more organization adequate and reliable.

The transformation of the operability of health services frames, a landscape constituted in optimizing the experience of the patient and the doctor in an environment that generates precision and safety thanks to ICT.
