Online conference on Digital Health tools and software for COVID-19 response

On Friday, March 27, Core Group organized an online conference about Digital Health tools that have been used during the COVID-19 pandemic and during another epidemics.

The first part of the conference was based on comments and experiences from Digital Health experts, who showed how they applied this type of tools during the Ebola outbreak in Africa 6 years ago. As well as the different means of dissemination of information between affected communities and database software to have control of confirmed cases.

Subsequently, they presented Zenysis Technologies, a platform for collecting and analyzing data on viral diseases by geographical area that has been implemented in Brazil during an outbreak of pneumonia in various locations in the country. In this way the information is collected and recorded by the software to be analyzed, thus seeking that public health decisions are directed and oriented by accurate data.

In addition, Sri Lanka's case against COVID-19 (https://saluddigital.com/el-big-data/universidad-de-oslo-lanza-software-que-acelera-el-proceso-de-diagnostico-de-coronavirus/), which uses the DHIS2 open source web platform for data collection and analysis to track cases by geographical area, was also addressed.

Another project presented was the Openideo initiative, which seeks to provide validated and reliable information for the communities in these times of crisis, however, they will offer more information on April 7 at the following link: https://ideo.in/covidwebinar

Close to the final part, was the turn of another of the important propositions, THINKMD, in their response to COVID-19 (https://covid19.thinkmd.tech/#/start), have developed a tool for monitoring personal triage, education and surveillance.

It is a unified web-based platform that is also available as a mobile app for smartphones, with triage recommendations, case monitoring, dissemination of educational and informational materials that has been applied in more than 9 countries. Used by nurses, doctors, professors, pharmaceutical companies, etc.
